Home-schooled students age 6+ have a unique opportunity to attend Beginner/Intermediate classical ballet classes fulfill their P.E. requirements with this elegant classical art. Boys and girls welcome!
Ballet for home school is an exceptional health and physical education program that can enhance the quality and productivity of life through comprehensive, collaborative, and sequential learning. Studies show that physical activity contributes to improved academic achievement, cognitive skills, attitudes, concentration, readiness to learn, and classroom behavior.
Home-schooled grade schoolers from across the city are welcome to join our Homeschool Ballet Program. High schoolers in the homeschool system are also encouraged to participate in our Adult (Beginner/Intermediate) classes. Classical Ballet of Mobile is a family-focused, conservative school that welcomes dancers of all levels to learn and love to dance. Here’s why home schoolers benefit most at Classical Ballet:
NO PRIOR DANCE EXPERIENCE - Total novices are welcome, as this is a beginner through intermediate course. Gymnasts, athletes, and students from other dance schools are encouraged to attend our classes to round out any existing sport or dance training.
NO ACADEMY REQUIREMENT - Students are not required to be Classical Ballet of Mobile Academy members.
NO REGISTRATION DEADLINE - Enroll at your discretion.
Boy & Girl GRADE SCHOOL Home School Students
The CBM Home School Ballet Program consists of 1.5-hour ballet class for a full semester each Tuesday from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Fees are listed below per student:
Annual Registration Fee: $50
Monthly Tuition: $85 (1 class per week)
Fall 2024 Term: August 19 - December 16
Winter/Spring 2025 Term: January 6-May 18
HOME SCHOOL UNIFORMS
Girls’ Uniform
Leotard: Any conservative (no exposed mid-drift or plunging neckline) solid color leotard of dancer’s choice
Skirt: Skirts of any solid color are optional
Pink Tights: by CAPEZIO or BODY WRAPPERS
Ballet Slippers: pink canvas (preferred) or leather split-sole ballet slippers
Boys’ Uniform
Tunic: white t-shirt or white t-shirt leotard
Tights: dance belt, black gym shorts or black tights, white socks
Shoes: white or black ballet slippers
HAIR & MAKEUP
Hair (all ages)
All girls must have their hair secured in a bun for each class.
If hair is too short for a bun, it must be secured off the face.
Jewelry (all ages)
Earring must be stud style, small and not dangling.
Neither watches, bracelets, smartwatches, nor long dangling necklaces may be worn by students in class.
Makeup
Tasteful, minimal make-up is allowed for students age 13 and above.
