Winter 2024
Classical Ballet of Mobile presents the Petite Nutcracker Suite, a magical performance featuring dancers aged 3-6. Join the enchanting journey and travel with us into the Kingdom of Sweets. The performance showcases three delightful groups: the Sugarplum petite dancers, the Marzipan petite dancers, and the Waltz of the Flowers, all set against the backdrop of the Land of Sweets. Accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s timeless music, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and David Maninov, this petite production brings the wonder of The Nutcracker to life for young dancers and audiences alike.
On Christmas Eve, the Stahlbaum family hosts a joyful celebration, and Clara’s godfather Drosselmeyer captivates the guests with magic, gifting Clara a Nutcracker. Later that night, the Nutcracker comes to life, and Clara is swept into a magical battle with the Mouse Queen, eventually journeying to the enchanted Kingdom of Sweets. This suite adaption focuses on Clara’s dreamlike adventure, filled with wonder, bravery, and a holiday celebration she’ll never forget.

Celebrating 60 Years of Creativity
For nearly sixty years, Mobile Museum of Art has presented exhibitions, programs, and events that connect our community while teaching important lessons about the creative process. Founded in 1964, MMofA has grown from a modest initiative of The Board of Commissioners of the City of Mobile and two private arts entities, the Allied Arts Council, and the Mobile Arts Association, to the only accredited art museum in southern Alabama.
In October 2024, Mobile Museum of Art will celebrate its 60th birthday. To celebrate our milestone birthday, we’re planning some groovy exhibitions, programs, and events. To kick off the celebrations, we’re hosting a sixties-themed Birthday Bash on October 26, 2024!
