Ballet 1

Pre-adolescent students learn to control their physical movements, begin to think more logically, understanding cause and effect of their thoughts, body language, breath and more. Students begin learning the fundamentals of traditional classical ballet, including proper posture, placement, technique, and artistic expression.

Classical Ballet of Mobile offers four convenient options for Ballet 1 students, recommending that most dancers in this division spend at least 2 hours per week training. Though Thursday classes are optional, please make sure your Level 1 dancer begins with the required Tuesday Ballet 1 class. Classes are “required” for rehearsal scheduling purposes when casting for performances.

Technique Tuesdays & Thursdays

Ballet 1 is admitted to technique classes to foster a love of the classical art, establish a foundational recognition of basic ballet terminology, improve balance and dexterity, as well as self-discipline and respect.
