UNIFORM POLICY
Classical Ballet of Mobile’s Academy dress code is designed to encourage unity, discipline, and improved concentration among our students.
Classical Ballet of Mobile honors childhood. Our dance technique, music and costuming selections uphold the innocence of youth. Conservative, classical dancers belong at the family-focused Classical Ballet of Mobile.
Academy students must wear the required uniform for each class. We feel this will enhance the learning environment in our studios and assist in maintaining our standards of excellence.

GIRLS BALLET CLASS UNIFORMS, HAIR & MAKEUP
Hair (all ages)
All girls must have their hair secured in a bun for each class.
Using a thin hairnet over the bun is helpful. Pink or white bun covers are permitted for Pre-Ballet only.
Ponytails are not considered in-uniform.
Bangs must be pinned back off the face.
Large bows are not permitted, but small non-distracting hair adornments are allowed.
If hair is too short for a bun, it must be secured off the face.
Jewelry (all ages)
Earring must be stud style, small and not dangling.
Neither watches, bracelets, smartwatches, nor long dangling necklaces may be worn by students in class.
Makeup
Tasteful, minimal make-up is allowed for students age 13 and above.
Pre-Ballet Girls Uniform
Leotards are a required purchase directly through Classical Ballet of Mobile.
Pre-Ballet 4 (ages 3-4): Classical Ballet of Mobile pink dance dress, skirt attached
Pink Tights: CAPEZIO Hold & Stretch Footed Tights
*Torn tights should not be worn to class.
Ballet Slippers: Pink leather ballet slippers are required and must be secured with instep elastic.

JAZZ UNIFORM
IN CLASS:
Black legging/jazz pants over any solid color one-piece leotard and pink tights, skin-toned and/or black jazz shoes
Hair should be worn in a bun, ponytail, or braids
ADDITIONAL JAZZ UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS (for performances, etc.):
Tights: Black tights, skin-toned tights
Shoes: Skin-toned and/or black jazz shoes, and skin-toned character shoes (1 in. heel) for Jazz 2 only
IMPORTANT HELPFUL NOTES
DANCE BAGS:
Student should have a kit of supplies in their dance bag. All kits should include a brush, travel size hair spray, and band-aids. All girls should add extra elastics, hairpins, bobby pins, and hairnets to their kits. As appropriate by age, kits should also include small scissors, safety pins, and needle and thread.
Academy dancers are encouraged to keep a theraband and small balls (tennis ball or smaller) for footwork, conditioning, and stretching purposes.
Ballet 3+ may want to keep their nude leotards in their bags at all times in case Wardrobe needs to fit dancers for costumes
Pointe shoes should always be left out of dance bags to air dry at home - just don’t forget to pack them each morning for class!
SUPPLIES:
The front desk has basic first aid supplies for emergencies, but we will not administer medication — including Tylenol, Aspirin, or Ibuprofen — to any student. Ice packs are available for emergencies.
Note: the front desk will not provide hair elastics and hair pins on a regular basis.
