Ballet 3

Pre-adolescent students learn to control their physical movements, think more logically, understand cause and effect of their thoughts, body language, breath and more. Students are more apt to recall the fundamentals of traditional classical ballet including proper posture, placement, technique, and artistic expression.

Classical Ballet of Mobile offers three key classes for Ballet 3 students, plus a jazz class, recommending that most dancers in this division spend at least 3.5 hours per week training. Though Wednesday and Thursday classes are optional, please make sure your Level 3 dancer begins with the required Monday Ballet 3 class. Classes are “required” for rehearsal scheduling purposes when casting for performances.

Technique & Jazz

Ballet 3 is admitted to two technique classes to reinforce the fundamentals of ballet along with a footwork-focused class to strengthen arches and ankles in preparation for pointe work in future dance training. Plus - dancers of at least are eligible to join our Jazz/Musical Theatre class to complement their classical regimen.

Remember that Monday Technique is required for Level 3 dancers.

EXTRA CLASSES

To prepare dancers for peak physical fitness to perform, we highly recommend cross-training with our Stretch & Extensions class on Tuesdays to refine specific skills like flexibility, extension, balance and more. And our Friday and Saturday Ballet 1, 2, 3 Technique classes are combined-level lessons that help Ballet 3 dancers further focus on precision in their technique while letting our most mature dancers serve as role models for younger students.
