      <image:caption>Regine began her dance training in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, at the Haitian-American Academy of Ballet &amp; Arts and earned her BFA from Florida State University. She has performed with numerous companies across Florida and New York, including Ballet Hispanico, Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre, Boracha Dance Ministry, Tallahassee Ballet, Brooklyn Ballet Company, and Ballethnic Dance Company, where she danced for seven seasons. As a soloist and principal dancer, Regine has showcased her versatility in Classical Ballet, Horton, Graham, Jazz, Contemporary, and African-based dance forms. She is the founder and Artistic Director of Metayer Conservatory for the Arts, serves as Ballet Mistress for several companies, including Fusion Dance Company, City Gate Dance Theater, and Gwinnett Ballet Theatre, and is currently the Academy Director for Classical Ballet of Mobile. In 2017, she was named a Visiting Fellow at the School of American Ballet in NYC, contributing to diversity initiatives in ballet education. Regine is also a certified Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique, and fitness instructor, emphasizing holistic training for dancers. Her work as a performer, educator, and choreographer—both nationally and internationally—reflects her dedication to dance excellence, wellness, and fostering the next generation of artists.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Mr. Fox began his training in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Moscelyne Larkin and Roman Jasinski who founded Tulsa Ballet and went on to be a Principal Dancer with that company.  He studied at both School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theatre School in NYC under a Ford Foundation Scholarship.  Tim danced with The New York City Ballet under the direction of George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Peter Martins.       <image:caption>Jennifer, an Atlanta native, began her dance training at a local studio in Decatur, Georgia. She went on to study on scholarship at both Atlanta Ballet and The Ailey School, where she continued to refine her technique and develop her artistic voice. She later earned her BFA in Dance from Florida State University, training under esteemed instructors such as Suzanne Farrell(New York City Ballet), Jawole Willa Jo Zollar (Urban Bush Women), and Anjali Austin (Dance Theatre of Harlem).  Jennifer’s professional career spans a wide range of genres and companies.  She has performed as a soloist with UniverSoul Circus, danced contemporary works with Dance Iquail (NY) and Surfscape Contemporary Dance Theatre (FL), and appeared in classical repertory with Urban Ballet Theater (NY) and Ballethnic Dance Company (GA). In 2017, she was selected as a School of American Ballet Teaching Fellow and was recognized as one of Voyage ATL’s “Secret Treasures.” Her choreographic work has been featured in the Netflix series Raising Dion. One of her most meaningful accomplishments was serving as Executive and Artistic Director of City Gate Dance Theater, where she created opportunities for professional dancers to collaborate with community partners and bring compelling, narrative-driven works to the stage.  Jennifer currently serves as the Assistant Director of Sugarloaf Youth Ballet and as a resident choreographer with Gwinnett Ballet Theatre. She remains committed to enriching the dance community through her teaching, mentorship, and continued choreographic exploration.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Abigrace trained at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre under direction of Wade Walthall and Lisa Sheppard Robson, subsequently receiving her BFA in dance from University of North Carolina School of the Arts under Dean Susan Jaffe. She went on to dance in Oklahoma City Ballet’s Studio Company and Ballet Tucson as an apprentice. As a company member, she has danced with Eugene Ballet, Texture Contemporary Ballet, Bluebird Uncaged, Jana Taylor and Dancers, Pasadena Dance Theatre, and Kayzer Ballet in Portugal. She also enjoyed performing in the European Royal Classical Ballet (Krolewski Ballet) 2024 US tour of Swan Lake. Some of her favorite pieces to dance include Balanchine’s Serenade and Donizetti Variations, the Mazurka variation and pas de deux from Les Sylphides, Grand Pas from The Nutcracker, as well as works by Suzanne Haag and Alan Obuzor. She currently dances as a company member at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Nikki began her dance training at Mobile Ballet and graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with degrees in Literature and Education. She performed professionally with the Dance Theatre of Harlem under Arthur Mitchell, dancing classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire. In 2006, she appeared at the White House in the PBS special In Performance at the White House. Nikki also danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, The Metropolitan Opera, and other companies as a freelance artist. Her choreography has been created for Carolina Ballet, Madison Ballet, Marigny Opera Ballet, and has been presented at Harlem Stage and in programs curated by Kennedy Center Honoree Tania León. A dedicated pedagogue, she pursues teacher training annually, is certified in ABT® National Training Curriculum, is a School of American Ballet National Visiting Teaching Fellow, and has completed teacher training at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Since 2015, she has served as owner and director of the New Orleans School of Ballet which annually performs her localized The Nutcracker in New Orleans.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Winthrop Corey, Artistic Director Emeritus</image:title>
      <image:caption>1946 - 2023 Winthrop Corey was a principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada. Dancing opposite Rudolf Nureyev in José Limón’s The Moor’s Pavane, Time Magazine noted “a chillingly effective performance”, while Clive Barnes of The New York Times added, “Corey, excellent in every way, a performance with style and authority.” He taught master classes throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, and been a summer faculty member of The Joffrey Ballet School and American Ballet Theatre. Corey has choreographed numerous full-length ballets, and his original productions include Dracula and A Streetcar Named Desire, for which he was awarded a Dance Fellowship by the Alabama State Council on the Arts. This year marks the sixth time Corey has coached the New York International Ballet Competition.</image:caption>

      <image:title>About - Pamela Thompson, Founding Academy Director &amp; Artistic Director</image:title>
      <image:caption>1952 - 2026 Pamela Thompson was a ballet teacher for more than twenty-five years, having taught in Mobile and Birmingham. She began her ballet training with Carol Graham, then continued in various programs, studying with Alexandra Danilova, Melissa Hayden, James Eaton, and others. She was a member of Mobile Civic Ballet under the direction of Duane Dishion, and teacher, Ann Duke. In Birmingham, she performed with the Birmingham Concert Ballet. She graduated with honors from Samford University with a BA in English and Education. In 1999 she joined the faculty of Mobile Ballet under the direction of Winthrop Corey, serving as Associate Director of the school from 2007–2015, during which time she established the Student Choreography Workshop. A strong advocate of continuing education, she has participated in dance educator workshops with Marcia Dale Weary and Darla Hoover at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and at the Alabama Dance Summit, as well as numerous teacher observation opportunities in New York. Her life's passion is passing on the love and beauty of ballet through teaching young people to dance.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Photo credit: savage.com Olivia began her dance training at the age of three. At the age of 11, she was a company member under Mobile’s own Winthrop Corey. During the summers of 2008 and 2009, Olivia attended the summer sessions at the School of American Ballet, the official school of New York City Ballet, and enrolled as a full-time student in fall of 2010. She became an apprentice with NYCB in November 2012 and joined the Company as a member of the corps de ballet in October 2013. She was promoted to soloist in April 2023 and recently debuted at the Kennedy Center performing as Principle lead in “Emeralds” from George Balanchine's Jewels.       <image:caption>Regine has an impressive background in dance, starting her training in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, at the Haitian-American Academy of Ballet &amp; Arts. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Florida State University and has performed extensively with various notable dance companies in Florida and New York City. Her dance education spans Classical Ballet, Horton, Graham, Jazz, Contemporary, and African-based dance studies. After her time at FSU, she further honed her skills at Ballet Hispanico in NYC and performed with several esteemed companies including Orchesis Contemporary Dance Theatre, Boracha Dance Ministry, Tallahassee Ballet Company, Dance Continuum, Albano Ballet, Ballet NY, Brooklyn Ballet Company, and Staten Island Ballet. Regine's career continued to flourish when she joined Ballethnic Dance Company in East Point, Georgia, performing there for seven seasons. She also contributed as a Guest dancer with Collage Dance Collective in Memphis, Tennessee, and performed as a principal dancer with World Ballet under Henry Hernandez and Dr. Elizabeth Delancy in Tallahassee, FL. Her journey also includes roles as a soloist with City Gate Dance Theater starting in 2012. Regine Metayer's influence in the dance community extends far beyond her performance career. As the Artistic Director and founder of Metayer Conservatory for the Arts, she has established a platform dedicated to nurturing young talent and promoting artistic growth. Her role as Ballet Mistress spans multiple prestigious organizations including Fusion Dance Company, City Gate Dance Theater and Gwinnett Ballet Theatre. She plays a pivotal role in guiding these companies, ensuring high standards of dance education and performance. In 2017, Regine Metayer was recognized as one of five national Visiting Fellows at the prestigious School of American Ballet in New York City. During her fellowship, she contributed to diversity initiatives within the school, emphasizing her commitment to promoting inclusivity and expanding opportunities within the ballet community. This role highlights her advocacy for diversity in dance education and her active involvement in shaping the future of ballet training in America. In addition to her leadership roles, Regine is a certified Pilates, Progressing Ballet Training and fitness instructor, as well as a personal trainer, emphasizing holistic physical conditioning for dancers and individuals alike. Her versatility is further demonstrated through her teaching and choreography engagements both domestically and internationally, collaborating with various studios and dance companies worldwide. Her commitment to dance extends beyond performance—Zoey has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of artists. She has shared her knowledge across various studios and programs within the MCPSS school system, leaving a lasting impact on the local dance community. As the director and ballet instructor at Bayshore Ballet Academy in Fairhope, Alabama, she has elevated the academy’s artistic vision, leading stunning productions of beloved classics like The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty with creativity, precision, and grace.       <image:title>Faculty - Tyra Jackson Ike-Asogwa</image:title>
      <image:caption>Tyra is the Founder and Co-Artistic Director of INNERGY, a Black woman–led dance company dedicated to amplifying Black voices and bringing transformative dance to underserved communities. A Mobile, Alabama native, Tyra is a visionary choreographer, educator, and curator whose work bridges cultural preservation and contemporary performance with over 15 years of professional experience. A graduate of NYU Tish Dance and The University of Alabama, Tyra has trained, performed, created and directed with leading industry professionals from The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre to the Association of Performing Arts Professionals. As Co-Artistic Director, Tyra has led INNERGY to receive more than $100,000 in grants and awards, touring their celebrated evening-length work New Moon across Alabama and producing programs that create professional opportunities for rising artists in the South. Under her leadership, INNERGY has become a vital force in cultivating innovative dance experiences and illuminating pathways for Black and marginalized dancers in Alabama and beyond. A 2023 Alabama Dance Fellow and Dance/USA National Dance Fellow Finalist, Tyra is also the founding director of the dance program at the Floretta P. Carson School of the Visual and Performing Arts Academy, Alabama’s first and only tuition-free performing arts school. She holds an MFA in Dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, has completed all levels of the Horton Pedagogy Training Program and Progressing Ballet Technique, and earned her undergraduate degree in Theatre and Dance from the University of Alabama, where she performed and with the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre and choreographed with Dance Alabama where she received the Eddie Barnes Award for Choreography. Her choreographic voice has been featured internationally—most notably in Italy, where she toured with Toscana Dance Hub and premiered Solitary Constraints at the Florence Dance Festival. Tyra has performed with Philadanco! DII, ClancyWorks Dance Company, Jocelyn Isaac’s UP! Project, and Dayo n Dance, and has trained with renowned artists including Princess Mhoon, Hope Boykin, Milton Myers, Joan Myers Brown, Sean Curran, and Bill T. Jones. Praised by BringItBlack.com for her stage presence —“She commits to each moment… a face that could’ve put a hurricane in its place” (Cleavon Meabon)—Tyra continues to bring her passion for storytelling and movement to the forefront of American dance.       <image:title>Faculty - Veronica Ramirez Casanova</image:title>
      <image:caption>Veronica was born in Cali, Colombia, where she began her dance training at the age of 10 at the Colombian Institute for Classical Ballet (INCOLBALLET) under the artistic direction of Gloria Castro Martinez. In 2007, she graduated as a professional ballet dancer and launched her career with the Compañía Colombiana de Ballet (CCB), where she danced as a soloist for a decade. Throughout her career, Veronica has performed a variety of principal roles in ballets such as Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Coppelia, Paquita, Carmina Burana, and many others. Her versatility extends to modern and contemporary works, collaborating with renowned choreographers like Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Jorge Amarante. In addition, Veronica has toured internationally, performing in Mexico, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Honduras. She has also danced at international festivals in Cali and Bogotá (Colombia) as well as Tabasco and Campeche (Mexico), sharing the stage with internationally recognized dancers such as Viengsay Valdés. In 2017, Veronica transitioned into a teaching role at the Compañía Colombiana de Danza Contemporánea, where she began mentoring the next generation of dancers. Her journey led her to Orlando, Florida, in 2018, where she joined Emotions Dance Company for two seasons. Veronica became part of Ballet Pensacola in 2020, when she was promoted to principal dancer of the professional company, performing leading roles. She also participated in Pensacola Opera’s musical theater production of Rodgers &amp; Hammerstein's Carousel. Since 2023, Veronica has been an integral part of Ballet Pensacola’s artistic staff, serving as Assistant to the Artistic Director and Rehearsal Assistant for the Professional Company for two seasons. In 2025, she was appointed Company Director of the Professional Company and staged Don Quixote for the spring production to conclude the 2024/2025 season. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Veronica is a dedicated teacher for advanced students at the Ballet Pensacola Academy and manages the Pre-Professional Program division. Veronica complements her experience with certifications in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Cuban Ballet School methodology. She also attended the CPYB teachers’ workshops at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet during the summers of 2023 and 2024. Most recently, Veronica was selected as a 2025–2026 National Visiting Fellow with the School of American Ballet (SAB).</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Audrey studied many forms of dance from ages 3 to 11 at Debbie’s School of Dance and was on the competition team. At age 11 she moved to Mobile Ballet in order to put more focus on ballet and joined the studio company at age 16 and was a member until she graduated high school. She studied ballet, jazz, and modern from ages 12-18 at Dunbar Creative and Performing Arts Magnet School and WP Davidson High School under the direction of Lori Bilbrey Vaghefi, Sheila Goodrich, and Angela Dussoy. She was accepted into Joffrey Ballet School in New York City and was 17 when she spent her first summer training there. In January of 2013, Audrey moved to NYC to train full time at Joffrey Ballet School where she graduated with a certificate of dance. She has taught jazz and ballet classes at Dunbar and WP Davidson High School. She has performed in several musicals, such as Beauty and the Beast (Playhouse in the Park), High School Musical 2 (Playhouse in the Park), and Give My Regards to Broadway (WP Davidson), and Nunsense (Chickasaw Community Theater) and many classical ballet works, such as The Nutcracker, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Swan Lake, and Viva Vivaldi, a Cunningham Event, Le Corsaire, Le Sylphide, Don Quixote and many other small works. Audrey danced with Ballet Theater of Maryland for six seasons and finished her last year of professional career dancing with Full Circle Dance Company and Misako Ballet Company. She has been teaching for nine years, four of which were at Ballet Theater of Maryland teaching all ages and all styles of dance.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Magdalene began her ballet training with Broadway South in Mobile, Alabama at the age of three. The following year, she moved to Mobile Ballet where she performed in two productions of The Nutcracker as a baby mouse and a doll. In 2017, Magdalene joined Classical Ballet of Mobile in its opening year, where she has since continued to learn and perform under the guidance of Pamela Thompson, Jacqueline Bodet-Stepan, Oksana Kozhanova, Jeffrey Cain, Rebecca Davis Brown, Brennan Smith, and Lilli Etheredge. She was accepted into the Classical Ballet of Mobile Company at the age of 12, and has performed in numerous productions, including roles as Cleopatra (Walpurgis Night), Autumn Fairy (Cinderella), Candide Fairy (Sleeping Beauty), Columbine Doll (The Nutcracker), Lead Trepak (The Nutcracker), Sorceress and Town Girl in Mobile Opera’s Le Villi, and many roles as a core dancer, which she is especially fond of. She has attended several summer intensives at CPYB and Classical Ballet of Mobile. Magdalene has enjoyed working with young dancers since she began serving as a teacher’s assistant in pre-ballet and summer camp classes at the age of 11.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Faculty - Tim Fox, Guest Faculty</image:title>
      <image:caption>Tim was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received his early training from Moscelyne Larkin and Roman Jasinski who danced with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. At the age of 13 Mr. Fox was awarded a Ford Foundation Scholarship and he studied at both The School of American Ballet (SAB) and American Ballet Theater School (ABT) in New York City. While at the School of American Ballet he trained with Stanley Williams, Andre Kramarevsky, Alexandra Danilova and Suki Schorer. He was chosen to perform lead roles in Divertimento #15 (Balanchine), Scenes du Ballet (Danilova) and Jerome Robbins ballet Interplay for the annual year end Workshop Performance. Following the performances he was personally invited by George Balanchine to join the New York City Ballet. As a member of New York City Ballet he performed original works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Peter Martins. In 1986 Mr. Fox joined the San Francisco Ballet under the direction of Helgi Tomasson. As a principal dancer he performed roles in Symphony in C, Four Temperaments, Serenade (Balanchine), Fancy Free, Interplay (Jerome Robbin), Forgotten Land (Jiri Kylian), Mercutio in Michael Smuin’s Romeo &amp; Juliet, Paul Taylor’s Sunset, Ballet d'Isoline (Tomasson) as well as works by Val Caniporoli. After retiring from performing Mr. Fox pursued a teaching career working with The Washington Ballet, The Boston Ballet School, Ballet Academy East (NYC), Maryland Youth Ballet, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet-Summer Faculty. He has choreographed works for Huntsville Ballet, Nittany Ballet, Allegheny Ballet, Midland Festival Ballet as well as competition pieces for YAGP.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Faculty - Kelley Ann Mitchell, Guest Faculty</image:title>
      <image:caption>Kelley Ann Mitchell began her training at age 4 under Pamela Thompson at Mobile Ballet and later joined the company under Winthrop Corey.  She has spent summers training at Exploring Ballet with Suzanne Farrell at the Kennedy Center, Miami City Ballet, CPYB, Charlotte Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, and City Ballet of San Diego. After falling in love with performing, she ultimately decided that this was what she wanted to do with her life. In 2013, she moved to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to train at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) under the late Marcia Dale Weary. She trained there for two years, and later joined Charlotte Ballet as a trainee. While in Charlotte, she was able to have Patricia McBride as one of her main teachers and was able to learn many Balanchine variations taught by Ms. McBride herself. After a year in Charlotte, she moved to Las Vegas to join Nevada Ballet Theatre, where she was able to perform in A Choreographer’s Showcase and work closely with the artists from Cirque du Soleil. She later joined City Ballet of San Diego for two seasons and was able to perform in many ballets by Elizabeth Wistrich including Giselle, Firebird, and Mozart Concerto, among others. She also fulfilled a career long dream of dancing in the full length Serenade by George Balanchine. Kelley Ann is currently a company member with Ballet Palm Beach under Artistic Director Colleen Smith.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Katherine Thompson, a native of Mobile, danced professionally with Cincinnati Ballet and Alabama Ballet, and has guested with New Orleans Ballet Theater, Neglia Ballet in Buffalo, NY, The Patrick Notaro Dance Project in Cape Cod, MA, and Mobile Ballet. Katherine began her ballet training with Carol Graham, and continued her formal ballet training under the direction of Winthrop Corey and Ann Duke. She danced the role of Lucy in Mr. Corey’s widely acclaimed world premiere of Dracula in 1998. While in high school, she attended summer intensives in New York City at The School of American Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and the Joffrey Ballet School.  Katherine was also Mobile County’s Junior Miss 1999 and an Azalea Trail Maid. Upon graduating from St. Paul’s Episcopal School, Katherine attended the Indiana University School of Music's Ballet Department on the Dean's Scholarship. Katherine graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BA in Communication Management. She resides in Birmingham with her two boys, and is on faculty at Briarwood Ballet and on the Board of Shelby County’s Distinguished Young Women.</image:caption>
